Seanachaí
(The Irish Gaelic word for 'Storyteller')
A long time ago in Ireland, when there was no TV or radio, the seanachai used to travel from village to village telling stories of old legends and events. Since ancient Celtic people didn't have their own writing system, the seanachai played an important role in preserving Ireland's ancient heritage and passing it on to the next generations. The seanachai are still respected people today.
